Shaoxing
wine contains rich nutrition of various kinds of amino acids,fats

spring of AD353 under the Eastern Jin emperor Yonghe's reign.Mr.Wang
Xizhi ,the calligraphy master,invited his relatives and friends
to come here for a festival to clean away evil influences.People
there recited pomes while drinking wine from cups floating on
the winding stream.Wang's friends asked him to record that great
event .Thus the prologue to the Orchid Pavilion collection was
written which has entered history with eternal glory Wang has
since been crowned as  the
Sage of Calligraphy and the place as the Calligraphy Mecca.That
perfect combinationof poems reciting wine drinking and calligraphy
spread well to Japan and now it has become a must during the
activities in exchanges of friendly visits between Japan and
China.
Shaoxing is a city of longhistory and a city of ceremonies.The
living and social custom and producing convention of people
here have a close relation with the Shaoxing wine.Shaoxing wine
is widely consumed in memorial cermonies and offerings,entertaining
guests and friends and recreation activities .As time passes,people
in Shaoxinghas developed the characterristics of moderate temper,diligence,thinkingand
creativ.
